Introducing EcoTrack

Project monitoring is often haphazard and time-consuming. Furthermore, results from monitoring do not always lead to improvement and learning. Now EcoTrack makes project results transparent and easy to use.

Energy services for disadvantaged communities in Hungary and Slovakia

Eco Ltd has supported the development of a project to address the energy needs of marginalized communities in Hungary and Slovakia. The project task was to develop a project document (proposal) for funding by UNDP Thematic Trust funds. Eco’s experts called upon their knowledge of the region and sustainable energy in the context of poor communities to produce a high quality and relevant project design.

Boiling Point

Eco Ltd are editors and publishers of the journal ‘Boiling Point’, a household energy magazine that provides free and accessible information to practitioners, researchers and users, reaching over 2000 addresses and an estimated readership of 5 times this number worldwide.

Eco's monitoring software supports ProBEC

Eco Ltd has developed a Results-Based Monitoring (RBM) system for the Programme for Basic Energy and Conservation (ProBEC).

ProBEC commissioned the RBM system to meet the challenge of collecting high-quality consistent data across many projects and countries in a format that would meet diverse donor reporting requirements and inform the project implementation process.

Removing barriers in Biomass Energy Conservation in SMEs in the SADC

Eco Ltd prepared a project brief for a medium scale project (MSP) for GTZ-ProBEC for submission to UNDP-GEF. The project aims to "Remove barriers to Biomass Energy Conservation in small and medium sized enterprises (SMEs) and institutions in the Southern African Development Community (SADC)". Eco provided leadership in country data collection in Lesotho, Namibia, Malawi, and Zimbabwe and provided back-stopping for local consultants who collected data in Mozambique and South Africa.

Eco has committed time and resources to helping the development of a range of technologies that use bio-ethanol as fuel. These technologies were initially developed by Marko Ltd and include an ethanol lamp, an ethanol cookstove and an ethanol boiler.

GVEP Knowledge Management and Communications strategies

In a consortium lead by IISD, Eco is assisting GVEP to develop its communications and knowledge strategies and their effectiveness and accessibility in the African context. This includes analysis of networks such as EUEI, PCIA, REEEP, GNSED, LP Gas Challenge, ENERGIA, HEDON, and regional networks such as ARECOP, and AFREPREN.

HEDON - Household Energy Network

Eco Ltd co-ordinates the HEDON Household Energy Network, an international forum dedicated to  improving social, economic, and environmental conditions in the South, through the promotion of local, national, regional and international initiatives in the household energy sector.
